Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia Forge Stronger Bonds for SDGs and Shared Prosperity

In a spirit of unity and shared progress,
H.E. Dr. Fitsum Assefa, Ethiopia’s Minister of Planning and Development, and H.E. Mr. Faisal Fadhil Alibrahim, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, met in New York to deepen the partnership between their nations.
Their dialogue, rich with vision and resolve, explored new frontiers in investment, resilience, and the acceleration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Both leaders underscored the power of localizing the SDGs— bringing global ambition to life within communities through inclusive collaboration.
In a gesture of enduring partnership, Dr. Fitsum extended an invitation to the Second Africa Climate Summit, to be held in Addis Ababa, September 8–10, 2025— an invitation warmly welcomed by the Kingdom.
The meeting concluded with a shared pledge: to walk hand in hand toward sustainable prosperity, anchored in collaboration, vision, and mutual respect.
