Ethiopia and Germany to Strengthen Collaboration on Shared Priorities

Addis Ababa | June 19, 2025

H.E. Dr. Fitsum Assefa, Minister of Plan and Development, today held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Jens Hanefeld, Ambassador of Germany to Ethiopia and Permanent Observer to the African Union, to discuss advancing cooperation between the two countries.

The discussion focused on shared priorities and explored collaboration for the upcoming Second African Climate Summit. Ethiopia is set to host and organize the high-level event in partnership with the African Union from September 8-10, 2025, in Addis Ababa.

Both parties agreed to work closely on the identified priority areas to further strengthen the partnership between Ethiopia and Germany.
